Terms for Authors

These Terms for Authors ("Author Terms") apply when an author ("Author", "you") submits material to Dramance or uses Dramance tools to create interactive stories, visual novels, narrative chats, or playable adaptations ("Story") based on the Author's book or literary work ("Work"). They supplement the general Terms and Conditions, which continue to apply to all users of the App.

By sending us material, confirming by email that we may create a Story, or creating a Story yourself on author.dramance.app, you agree to these Author Terms.

1. What Dramance Does

Dramance is an interactive storytelling platform and creator suite. We create, or provide Authors with tools to create, interactive Stories based on a Work—including vertical visual novels, choice-driven narrative episodes, AI character chats, and playable prologues or teasers. Stories published on Dramance may also be linked directly to external sales pages where readers can purchase the Author's full Work or subscribe to the Author's external channels (e.g., Amazon KDP, Wattpad, Patreon, Boosty).

2. Ownership

You retain all rights, title, and ownership in and to your Work, including its text, plot, characters, world-building, settings, titles, and brand. Dramance does not acquire ownership of your Work, does not require exclusivity, and does not restrict where or how you publish, license, or sell your Work.

3. License to Dramance

You grant Dramance a non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide license to use, adapt, host, display, translate, and promote the materials you provide or upload (including manuscripts, excerpts, character descriptions, scene summaries, cover art, and purchase links) solely to create, host, display, translate, and promote the Story on Dramance and across Dramance's promotional channels.

This license covers adapting your materials into interactive formats, including visual novel slides, choice structures, AI-generated dialogue, visual assets, audio narration, and translations into multiple languages. This license terminates when the Story is unpublished or deleted under Section 8, except for archived copies that cannot reasonably be purged immediately (such as system backups), which will remain dormant and unused.

4. Your Confirmations

By submitting materials or publishing a Story, you confirm that:

• You own all rights to the Work and submitted materials or hold the necessary permissions to grant the license above;
• The materials do not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
• The materials do not contain unlawful content or content that sexualizes minors;
• Any external purchase or subscription links you provide lead to legitimate pages selling or hosting the Work.

5. Artificial Intelligence

Dramance utilizes commercial artificial intelligence APIs to generate visual assets, audio narration, and interactive dialogue (including services from providers such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, Novita AI, OpenRouter, and ElevenLabs). Dramance does not use your submitted materials, manuscripts, or Works to train or fine-tune public or proprietary AI models, nor do we sell or share your materials for AI training purposes. Your materials are processed strictly to generate and run your Story.

AI-generated content may vary between reading sessions and may not always mirror your Work with 100% precision. As between you and Dramance, Dramance claims no independent copyright ownership over AI-generated outputs derived directly from your Work, and you are free to use promotional outputs generated for your Story to promote your Work.

6. Platform Monetization, In-App Currency & Fees

• In-App Currency (Crystals): Stories on Dramance may incorporate interactive choices, premium branching paths, bonus lore, lore cards, or exclusive character chat sessions that require in-app currency ("Crystals") to unlock. Readers may earn Crystals for free through platform engagement or purchase Crystal bundles using real money inside the Dramance player. Dramance retains all revenue generated from Crystal sales and in-app microtransactions on the platform.
• Author Publishing & Tools: One basic promo-chat creation and publishing options are offered free of charge. Dramance may offer optional paid creator features, project licenses, or generation credit packages for advanced capabilities. No published Story will become a paid requirement for authors without your explicit consent.
• External Book Sales: Dramance takes 0% commission on direct external sales of your Work. Purchases made through your external links (e.g., Amazon KDP, Wattpad, Patreon, Boosty) occur entirely on those respective external platforms, and all revenue from those sales belongs 100% to you under those platforms' terms.

7. No Guarantees

Dramance does not guarantee any specific number of views, readers, clicks, conversions, or external book sales. We are not responsible for the commercial performance or marketing outcomes of your Work or Story.

8. Removal and Termination

You may request the unpublishing or deletion of your Story at any time by writing to our contact email below or via your author account tools. We will make the Story unavailable to the public within 7 days of receiving your request and purge associated source materials from our active systems.

Dramance reserves the right to unpublish or remove a Story if these Author Terms are violated, if third-party rights are infringed, or if required by applicable law. Where feasible, we will notify you in advance. At your request, a Dramance-created Story can be transferred to your personal Author Account on author.dramance.app, allowing you to manage, edit, or delete it independently.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dramance and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or lost profit damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the platform, the Author tools, or the display of your Story.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Author Terms from time to time. Material updates will not apply retroactively to Stories already published without your prior consent, and we will notify registered authors of material changes via email or platform announcement.

11. Governing Law

These Author Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
